1987 is a short film I made in collaboration with Nigel Sylvester to mark the launch of his signature G-Shock watch. We started with an interview and dug into Nigel’s inspirations and approach. The interview was transcribed into Japanese and passed through a digitized speech generator. The film was titled after Nigel’s birth year and closed with a quote from Michael Jordan. I created the sound design using a Micro-Korg and the ultimate jump-up beat, Amen.
