In 1989 at a school in rural England there was a book in the library called ‘Subway Art’. It became a bible for a group of curious, culture-starved white boys ecstatically dancing around the fields of Devon, looking for something to do. We adopted tags, bombed cow sheds and rocked fake gold chains with fat laces. 20 years later I was blessed with an opportunity to make a triptych of films for legendary NY graffiti writer Stash to promote his ‘City Classics’ collection with Reebok Classics that honored writers and visual artists from key global cities with a signature shoe.
